FizzBuzzJazzing in Folkestone December 22, 2013 at 4:38 pm

Last week  Kent’s most purposeful party returned to Folkestone. This time we were co-hosting with Folkestone-based animation geniuses Cognitive Media, taking FizzBuzzJazz to The Workshop a new inspirational work space, digital hub and startup incubator on Tontine Street. The evening was a fantastic mix of established FizzBuzzJazzers and new faces with many exciting connections being made.

Providing the sound track for this FizzBuzzJazz were Alien FM and Thom Norton from Sandgate-based record label Sideways Recordings. The fizz was, as ever, provided by our wonderful sponsors Chapel Down and The Foundry brew pub kindly gave us a sneak preview of their special halloween-themed pumpkin pie ale. The wonderful team from Beano’s cafe kept us well-supplied throughout the evening with a delicious variety of vegetarian and vegan pizza arriving fresh from their oven just across Tontine Street.

Our competition was inspired in part by Cognitive Media’s latest RSAnimate Re-Imagining Work as well as the array of flexible work spaces on offer in The Workshop. We asked guests to scribe their interpretations of the phrase ‘flexible working in Folkestone’. The winner, who took home a bottle of Chapel Down, was Graham Green, with Emma Wilcox and Matt Osbourne in 2nd and 3rd place.
