Once upon a time in Ashford… December 13, 2014 at 4:11 pm

Last week we were in Ashford for the final FizzBuzzJazz of 2014, courtesy of wonderful co-hosts, the internationally acclaimed Jasmin Vardimon Company. They were kind enough to give us free reign of their Production Space where multi-disciplinary artistic study, experimental collaborations and educational residencies take place.Nfl Jerseys It was a terrific environment for established FizzBuzzJazzers and our many new faces to connect, chat and share opportunities and ideas.

For the first time at FizzBuzzJazz we had a pre-event masterclass where FBJ founder,  Tim le Lean shared his expertise of networking including his six principles to get the most out of networking. A special thanks must go to Revelation St. Marys for providing a stunning venue for our networking masterclass to take place and to Ashford Borough Council for helping us to take FizzBuzzJazz to Ashford for the first time.

It was great to see the return of FBJ favourite Joe Browne with band mate Hal Hutchinson of Last Summer’s Tealights who provided us with an effortlessly excellent jazz soundtrack.

A big thanks to all our fabulous food and drink sponsors: Chives Catering cooked up a storm with a delicious array of tasty treats, fizz was provided by sponsors Chapel Down and Canterbury’s own Foundry Brew Pub were kind enough to let us have some of their finest Bigglestone’s Brown Ale.

The ever popular FBJ competition was back in quiz territory, this time with congratulations (and a bottle of Chapel Down Brut) to Rhiannon Lane from Bright Shadow for correctly guessing the fairy tales we’d taken five quotes from.

Finally a huge, heartfelt thanks must go to this year’s principal sponsor the University of Kent who have generously supported us for all of our events in 2014.

Thanks also you to Hope Fitzgerald who was snapping away all evening and perfectly captured the essence of Kent’s most purposeful party.

That’s it now for FizzBuzzJazz in 2014. Watch this space for news of what’s coming up in 2015!
