Purposeful partying with performers, poets and pizza December 21, 2014 at 6:01 pm

For the first FizzBuzzJazz of 2014, thanks to new principal sponsor the University of Kent, cheap Jerseys we went to the fabulous Colyer-Fergusson Music Building at the University’s Canterbury campus. Its stunning architecture makes for excellent acoustics in the main auditorium and, we discovered, a superb party space in the foyer.

Luckily this also meant we were a short few yards from the Gulbenkian Café Bar who provided a brilliant team on the evening as well as a most excellent selection of pizza. Refreshment was provided as always by sponsors Chapel Down and The Foundry Brew Pub providing two excellent options in the shape of Chapel Down Brut and Foundry Gold ale.

A brilliant and conversationally-conducive jazz soundtrack for the evening was provided by pianist Chris Manley, playing his first FizzBuzzJazz and doing a superbly good job.

Congratulations to Louise Rizzo From the Kent Union Job Shop for winning our competition – guess which famous names had and hadn’t appeared on the Gulbenkian stage.

And a final thank you to Hope Fitzgerald for these excellent images of the evening.

We are thrilled to announce that for the first FizzBuzzJazz of 2014 we will be returning to Canterbury to co-host Kent’s most purposeful party with our new principal sponsor, the University of Kent, who are generously supporting all of our events this year.

We are heading to the University’s stunning new Colyer-Fergusson Building where Year One Consulting will be hosting our usual round of connection-making, opportunity-sharing and conversation-sparking. As ever the fizz will be provided by our sponsors Chapel Down with a side helping of fine ales from the ever dependable The Foundry brew pub and food provided by the brilliant Gulbenkian.

FizzBuzzJazzing in Chatham December 14, 2014 at 12:20 pm

The second FizzBuzzJazz of 2014 saw us return to Chatham Historic Dockyard. This time we took the purposeful party to the University of Kent School of Music and Fine Art’s Galvanising Shop.Wholesale NFL It was the perfect setting for improvised jazz sounds from FizzBuzzJazz favourite Sam Bailey on keyboard and harmonium along with Liran Donin (from Mercury Music prize-nominated Led Bib) on double bass.

As always we had a glass or two of fizz from our sponsors Chapel Down and some of the The Foundry brew pub’s finest Bigglestone’s Brown Ale. We were treated to a variety of delicious meats and cheeses from Patriana based in The Goods Shed, which is also where we found  the very tasty Duskin apple juice.

Congratulations to Natasha from Creatabot for winning our Knot Just the Usual! competition.

Also a huge thank you to the wonderful, wandering Hope Fitzgerald who captured these shots of the fizzing, buzzing and jazzing. She was hot on the heels of her three-week unmapped Walk Swale Medway project.

Finally a big thank you to this year’s principal sponsor the University of Kent for their support and providing access to such amazing venues.
